This is a Green OPAL standing stone. The stone itself is from Madagascar. Shown next to a standard 12oz/355ml soda can for size comparison. Green Opal deposits in Madagascar are a relatively new find. They can include both Iron dendrites (brown - can resemble plant-life), and/or Manganese dendrites (black - can resemble plant-life). This particular piece has a variety of interesting small VUGS present, some lined with reddish brown botryoidal Chalcedony. "Botryoidal" means "resembling a cluster of grapes", and presents as small balls/round nodules. Vugs are natural formations, sometimes also known as "crystal cave inclusions", and considered highly collectible. Really MUCH nicer 'in person' than the photos can show - I guarantee it! There Very cool! It would be nice as part of a crystal grid, held in the hand while meditating, or just put on display!

Chalcedony of all colors is said to aid in balancing the energies of the mind, body, and spirit. It promotes social harmony. It is a stone of calm and peace, and helps alleviate hostility/irritability. Used by some in lucid dreaming.
