This is a gorgeous TOURMILATED QUARTZ crystal pendant. The setting and bail are sterling silver. It lovely clearer Quartz accented by black "needles" of Tourmaline, and a thin veil of golden Hematite towards the bottom of the pear shape. This combination is excellent for personal protection, stabilization, and grounding. The Quartz acts as an amplifier, boosting the already strong protection properties of the Black Tourmaline and Hematite. Much nicer 'in person' than any photos can show.
I would recommend clearing this piece regularly if you are in "high intensity" emotional situations or feel you are under psychic attack to keep it "fresh". The dry salt method Sherry has written about here is effective, efficient, and easy.

Black Tourmaline aka Schorl, is probably best known as a stone of Purification and Protection.
It is used to help one to let go of the issues and problems that are holding you back.
