This is a Hypersthene, AKA Black Labradorite, Crystal pendant. Shown next to a US quarter coin in the photos. Excellent flash in this one on both sides. The setting and bail are silver toned metal. I'm not sure of the composition, and the price reflects this. Hypersthene is technically Hornblende, the trade name for this *quality* of material is Black Labradorite or Hypersthene. It is a scarce and rare material. Hornblende is commonly found in regular Labradorite, and helps bring out a "cat's eye" or chatoyant shimmering quality. It also exhibits that quality by itself. The flashes in Black Labradorite are a silvery grey color with hints of lavender. Especially prized are specimens that have a "tiger stripe" pattern to their flashes.

Black Labradorite AKA Hypersthene AKA Hornblende causes beautiful a “cat’s eye” chatoyancy or shimmering, scattered throughout the stone.
Hornblende repels negative energies, and supports one's efforts to discover and understand one's own role in attacks from other people and deal with criticism. It is useful in letting go of envy and jealousy.
