This is a vibrantly red natural Ferruginous Quartz crystal specimen, composed of a main larger Tabular/Tabby flat tablet shaped crystal with multiple sparkly BRIDGE crystals throughout one side. Shown next to a US quarter coin for size comparison. The stone itself is from Morocco - one of my favorite localities for Quartz! Ferruginous Quartz is a variety of Quartz with a high concentration of red Hematite inclusions. Sometimes also known as "Fire Quartz" as a trade name.
The largest crystal has a "window" effect in the point where you can see a bit deeper into the stone. Delicate natural "etchings" are present on the facets, and the closer you look at this one the more interesting features you will discover. It's a nice size for incorporating into a crystal grid, or can be a beautiful display piece.
This is a natural specimen and as such there are a variety of physical textures present. ALL formations are 100% natural.
It weighs about 3.7oz and measures about 3 3/8" inches long by 1 5/8" inches wide by 7/8" inch thick at the thickest point. Code-021125-6
A Bridge Crystal facilitates the connection between the inner and outer worlds, the self and others, and the self and other worlds. It is beneficial when you are attempting to share this knowledge with others. The bridge crystal is also useful for all types of teaching and helps with understanding and connections between the teacher and student.
Ferruginous Quartz is a variety of Quartz with a high concentration of red Hematite inclusions. Hematite is a must for anyone interested in working with crystals and stones. It is said to assist in grounding and calming and in manifesting Divine Light in your life.
It is a calming energy and is said to attract "kind" love and act as a stabilizing force.
Some forms deflect and dissolve negative energies, especially the crystals with gray, silver and black inclusions.
Hematite is said to help one to 'sort things out' and can be used for memory enhancement, original thinking and technical knowledge.
Hematite, especially in its natural crystalline form, is traditionally thought to bring peace, self-control and support an inner happiness.
In Crystal Healing, it is used to calm the nerves, for insomnia, to align the spine and speed the mending of broken bones. Some Indigenous healers have used it with blood disorders.
Hematite is associated with the Root Chakra.
Hematite that is found in quartz can be several colors, including grays, silvers, blacks, browns, reds, oranges or golds. It is a high iron content mineral.
Quartz with high Hematite saturation is sometimes also called Eisenkiesel (German for "iron pebble" pronounced "i-zen keezle")
Tabular Quartz aka Tablet, Tabby or "Flat" Quartz. Tabular quartz grew in a way that makes it flatter than a normal crystal. Some are very noticeably flattened and could have Jacaré like elestial formations; most look almost 'normal' at first glance.
Tabular quartz holds energy, rather than transmits it. It doesn't "let go" of the energy it absorbs easily.
They are excellent for protection from psychic attack and stray energies. "Tabbys" hold the energy they come into contact with, rather than transmit it, especially lower vibrations.
It must be cleared regularly, and fairly often, by putting into a light salt water solution for 10-15 seconds, followed by rinsing it under running water.
Native legends speak of crystal skulls as an inheritance from ancient times. Said to “talk and sing” they are believed to carry messages for all mankind, including what may be discovered when we overcome our fear of death.
